Invaluable Counsel

Invaluable Counsel

Well W is finally off to school, and I wanted to thank you for your invaluable counsel as he worked through the college process. Having spent last weekend at Northwestern, I am so excited for W and have a great feeling about it as the right place for him. You did such a great job of showing him the world of possibilities, helping him to navigate the process, and helping him to fully think through his decision.

Care and Attention

Care and Attention

We are very proud of M - he’s worked hard in a number of areas to put himself in a great position. We can’t believe he’s going off to college so soon! We are equally excited about him getting into a challenging environment in the US and making the most of the experience.

We really want to thank you for all your care and attention to M over the past four years. We think you’ve had a tremendous impact on his focus, planning and goal setting which has materialized into great accomplishments. As a result, what should have been overwhelming and stressful - applying to colleges -- has been somewhat anticlimactic in a good way. Being proactive and having a plan has put M in this position.

Also, your advice to us on school choice has been invaluable.  Pomona wouldn’t have been on the top of our list (or on our list) when this process started, but now we truly feel that Pomona will be a tremendous fit for M and we feel good about his decision.

We need to talk about our 7th grader next!

Reached Vassar

 Reached Vassar

You were right that she didn’t need to take an extra class in 12th grade.

You were right that after being devastated by her SAT score that the assessment test may indicate that she would do better on the ACT.

You were incredibly insightful to guide us towards small liberal arts colleges. I didn’t make the connection to the Montessori background but you did and I think she will be MUCH happier than going to a large research university.

When I looked at your Spring break choices, the idea of driving to Vassar was very unpleasant. But when we got there, we all knew that it was different than every place we had been. I was concerned that it would get her hopes up. But I knew it was a highly selective school and it might be a motivator to her.

I could continue but I realize you have other clients and for them, the journey is still going on. It was not easy to hand the wheel over to C and you and just observe. I observed as much as I could. I can raise my hand and say that I took your advice and I never looked at her essays until after they were submitted.

Making Opportunities Possible

Making Opportunities Possible

I just wanted to check in and report that S is doing great and could not be happier than she is at Penn. I was with her in NYC this weekend on the back end of a business trip, so I had a good amount of time with her. (Funny how inviting her up for a play or two gets her attention.) She did great academically last semester, is making good friends and has joined the sorority this semester.

Without your counsel, neither S nor I suspect she’d be a Quaker.  We’re grateful for you making the opportunity possible.
